Based in Loughborough, we are a short walk from the Railway station and we are near to Loughborough town centre.

As a charity we rely on the help of volunteers. We believe in valuing our volunteers and trainees and in welcoming people from different cultures and backgrounds.

• We save furniture from going into landfill
• We help people set up home by providing resources
• We help people gain the confidence and skills to get into employment

SOFA sells directly to the general public and all proceeds from sales are used to support our charitable purposes.  We also work with agencies, who can refer their clients to us. Working with Us as a volunteer gives people a chance to gain excellent experience of being in a workplace. We also offer Training in all aspects of administration, meeting skills and equal opportunities.

We are proud of our high standard of customer service. This means that our volunteers become valuable employees when they move into paid work.

SOFA was established 30 years ago in Leicester, and moved to Loughborough in 2005.
The project is funded by Leicestershire County Council.
