SOFA take Health & Safety very seriously, we will never knowingly sell you furniture that is broken and could cause injury.

The people who deliver the items to you are volunteers so we don't ask them to carry furniture upstairs. That means that you will need to organise someone to be on hand to help you, if you do need to take your furniture upstairs.

Electrical Items:

We send all electrical items for testing before they are put on sale. For instance, washing machines will not just be tested electrically, but they are also connected up to a water supply.

Trading Standards Electrical Goods Information

Soft Furnishings:

We aren't allowed to resell soft furnishings that don't have labels saying that they conform to the Fire Regulations of 1988. When you offer us furniture we will check that the labels are in place.

Trading Standards Used Furniture Information

Glass Items:

We will also check that glass items have the British Safety Standard kitemark.

We can accept smoked glass as that has also been toughened.
